House Democrats’ Litigation Task Force Chair, Assistant Leader Joe Neguse, and Co-Chair, Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jamie Raskin, issued the following statement after a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of International Trade unanimously blocked President Donald Trump’s effort to impose sweeping and chaotic tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

House Assistant Minority Leader Joe Neguse (CO-02) and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (MD-08), Leaders of the Litigation Task Force, and Ranking Members of the Appropriations and Education and Workforce Committees, Representatives Rosa DeLauro and Robert C. “Bobby” Scott, issued the following statement after a federal judge blocked the Trump Administration from dismantling the Department of Education, also ordering the immediate rehiring of unlawfully terminated staff—a thinly veiled effort to dismantle the entire department without congressional approval.

Late Monday, House Democrats’ Litigation Task Force led 148 Members of Congress in filing an amicus brief challenging President Donald Trump’s sweeping and chaotic tariffs unlawfully imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).
